Miss Amber Schlomer is serving as one of our 6th grade homeroom teachers.
Miss Schlomer teaches 6th, 7th, and 8th grade literature and music. She also teaches 6th grade catechism and upper grade math. Her other duties include Drama Director, Math Team advisor, and Conductor of the Omega Choir.
She was born and raised in Gillette, Wyoming where she attended public elementary and high schools. While in high school, she performed for one season with the Powder River Symphony.
She graduated from Martin Luther College, New Ulm, Minnesota in May of 2005. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree with a double major in Elementary Education and Secondary Instrumental Music Education.
Prior to serving at St. Mark's Lutheran School, Miss Schlomer taught at Lakeside Lutheran High School in Lake Mills, Wisconsin. She served in Lakeside's Music Department as Concert Band Director, Jazz Band Director and Choir Director. She served in the Math Department as an Algebra teacher and as a Math Team coach.
Miss Schlomer holds a Minnesota State Professional Educator's License in the area of Social Studies for grades K-8. She is also a member of the Wisconsin State Reading Association.
When she is not educating young adolescents, Miss Schlomer enjoys a variety of activities including, photography, reading, cooking, traveling, hiking, writing and arranging music and playing various musical instruments, especially the trumpet.
