Beth Ristow was born in Appleton, WI to Rev. Bruce and Kathy Marggraf. When she was only nine months old, her father accepted a call to be a missionary in Brazil. Beth’s three sisters were all born in Brazil. Beth moved to Sussex, WI the summer before 8th grade. Her father still serves at Faith Lutheran Church in Sussex, and her mother teaches pre-k 3 and 4 at Faith.
Her sister Anne just graduated from Martin Luther College, got married this summer, and now is about to start teaching kindergarten in Goodhue, MN.
Emily is beginning her sophomore year at MLC and Lynn is a senior at LPS.
Beth enjoys playing sports, running, board games, and crossword puzzles.
Beth attended high school at Luther Prep School here in Watertown.
After graduating from LPS, Beth went to Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN to become a teacher.
There she studied education and Spanish.
Beth took off a semester from her sophomore year to work with Kingdom Workers.
She went back to Brazil and taught EFL.
Beth returned to MLC and graduated in 2009.
Beth and her husband Christian accepted teaching positions at a bilingual school in Santiago, Dominican Republic. Beth taught 7th, 8th, 9th, and 11th grade language arts last year.
Beth was blessed to receive an assignment to St. Mark’s to teach kindergarten and 1st grade.
