Mr. Jon Nelson is our seventh grade homeroom teacher. Mr. Nelson teaches 7th grade religion, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade science, art, spelling and Algebra I.
He is also Coach | Advisor for St Mark's Forensics Team and provides support for St Mark's technology system.
Mr. Nelson grew up in a small northeastern Wisconsin community of Suring, Wisconsin; population 485.
After marrying his wife, Shirley, they moved to Staten Island, New York. They both taught at St. John’s for two years. The Nelson family moved to Watertown, Wisconsin in 1970 and both taught for one year.
He returned to the teaching ministry after completing a colloquy and receiving a call from St. Mark's Lutheran where he has served the past eleven years.
Mr Nelson has achieved a Master of Science in Education Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He is fully licensed by the State of Wisconsin for grades K-12.
Mr. and Mrs. Nelson have three adult children, all of them married with eight grandchildren.
